Tonca's Birthday  -  2006

JULY 2006

The JHS, with assistance from two Sandalwood Herpetology Club (SHC) members, helped the MOSH with their annual birthday bash for Tonca, their alligator snapping turtle.  We had several volunteers that were more than happy to help Tonca out of his tank for his annual viewing.  The photo to the left shows those who helped get Tonca out of the tank.  Tonca has been in this outdoor tank and now has more "elbow room" in a partitioned part of the pond in the courtyard.

We had several members manning our tables in the reptile room.  Bob Shumaker, John James, Margery Johnston, Chris Miller, Adriana Preston, Cheli and Doug Green, and Mike Monlezun showed up for the event.  We had several animals there, which included a blue tongue skink, Honduran milksnake, bearded dragon, Colombian boa, albino Burmese python, Everglades rat snake, corn snake, Dumeril's boa, and a spur-thigh tortoise.

Left to right: Bob Shumaker, Chris Miller, Scott Waffle (SHC), Alex Kaiser (SHC), John James, and Jason Hoffman.
